On WinFi 1.0 it used to work flawlessly it detected the intel wireless card on my laptop.
Now on version 1.0.8.0 it gives the error:
WinFi could not detect any compatible Hardware Interfaces.
Nothing was changed in my windows since i've been running this build for 6 months.
Only stopped working after updating to the latest version.
Running on Windows 10 1909 18363.10022
Any ideas? Or logs?
I didn't install any drivers or updates because i have windows update disabled.
Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
Re: Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
hmm, WinFi doesnt detect any Devices by its own. It just Displays the List of WiFi Devices it gets from the OS.
Is the Device enabled in the Device Manager?
if yes, you can try to delete the WinFi Settings file
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\WinFi\settings
If you have any custom Profiles, you should export them before you doing this

Re: Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
Deleted the settings file and no avail:

My device manager:
http://prntscr.com/pqyz56
I didn't change anything from WinFi 1.0 to 1.0.8.0 lol
I've been using the same windows instalation ever since i got my laptop about a year ago
Any tips?
Edit:
Reinstalling didn't work either so its a internal issue i believe.
Any logs i can grab to help mitigate the issue?

Re: Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
sorry for the long delay, havent forgoot you.
Thats a weird Problem you have. Could you please do this:
1. open a command terminal in Windows and enter "netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces", make a screenshot out of the output
2. delete the current logfile "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\WinFi\log.txt"
3. start winfi and reproduce the Problem
4. check if WinFi created a logfile and give it t me
thanks

Re: Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
Hello
Thanks for this fantastic free tool.
I'm having the same problem as OP after updating to 1.0.8.0
But the problem doesn't seem to be tied to the intel card.
I was running WinFi Lite immediatley before and after the 1.0.8.0 update so I'm 100% sure that is the only thing that changed on my system.
My adapter is Intel Wireless-AC 8260, so slightly different to the OP.
Driver version 20.70.3.3
Windows 10.0.15063 Build 15063
I also tried deleting the WinFi settings file - no fix
Here is output of interfaces and fresh log
04:45:04.786 - getWlanInterfaces: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - WinFi
H:\>netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces
Idx Met MTU State Name
--- ---------- ---------- ------------ ---------------------------
33 65 1500 disconnected Bluetooth Network Connection
1 75 4294967295 connected Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
6 5 1500 disconnected Ethernet
31 25 1500 disconnected Local Area Connection* 10
4 35 1500 connected vEthernet (HV-External-WiFi01)
15 15 1500 connected vEthernet (HV-Internal-01)
28 35 1500 disconnected Ethernet 4
26 5 1392 disconnected Ethernet 5
17 25 1500 connected Npcap Loopback Adapter
22 25 65536 connected Ethernet 6
After writing all of the above I tried connecting a USB Proxim Wi-Fi adapter to my laptop - same issue
Then I tried another old Atheros USB adapter - same issue
For all 3 adapters I noticed that in WinFi's "Interfaces" window, the Scan, Config, and Delete buttons are all greyed-out.Selecting add a new interface doesn't do anything but selecting WLAN Pi does start the Pi wizard.

Re: Not detecting Intel Wireless 9260 network card on 1.0.8.0
Can you share a link for a old version for when this was working? I'm not a programmer myself so... Not much help into fixing it. I just need to run the program and have it working
